Another month end gathering [Astons Specialities, 1 Caramel]

It is the last day of Aug! At least it is moving nearer to the end of the year. Faster than I've expected. Great!

Had dinner with ZR and Sok at Astons Specialities at The Cathay.

When I arrived at 7pm, there was already an inverted V queue. ZR and Sok were still on the way then. Thought I would join the queue. Ha.. While waiting, one of the waitresses announced that they have run out of french fries, a veggie and butter for baked potato. Found it really amusing. To run out of critical items such as french fries? Since I was in the queue for a good 15 minutes already, I thought I would stick with it. In all, we waited for a good 45 minutes before we were seated. While we were in the restuarant, the queue was never ending. What a rosy business!

The individual dishes cost between 6.50 - 12.00 depending on the meat and how it could be prepared. You could also top it up with 2 side dishes! I had BBQ chicken while the rest had Chargrilled chicken and platter of Fried Chicken and Sausages!

The serving was rather huge given the price. Quite a sweet deal if not for the queue. Ha.. And it is definitely not the place if you are in a rush!

We adjourned to 1 Caramel, a new cafe that is strewn between The Cathay and PS. Like the simple yet classy set up.1 Caramel is one of my favourite desserts place. This is the place to check out if the movie you are watching ends a little too early!

The range of cakes available are on display. You could walk up to the counter to see if there is a cake to your liking. Personally I like their chocolate and cheesecakes! My friends generally enjoyed the hot teas and iced drinks.
